Mine and port automation engineering
Delivered in the right way,
for the right price.
Automation reduces human error and makes performance safer and more predictable.
Today, you can access deep domain expertise and intelligent software that helps your facility improve ROI and digitally enables your operation.
MRA has extensive experience in Bulk Material Handling and industrial automation engineering. In addition to PLC automation, we also have our own intelligent software designed specifically to simplify and improve efficiency for complex bulk material handling operations. Despite deep domain expertise, we still work to understand each site’s exact needs, before designing and implementing any solution.
Whether you need improved mobile machines, conveyor systems, dump stations or train load outs or site-wide control systems, we have the experience and we’ve probably solved the problem before.

FAQs
Why would we choose to work with MRA for our automation engineering?
MRA is the only Australian engineering company that has both deep domain expertise in bulk materials handling, as well as a suite of intelligent software designed to create greater visibility and performance over your operations. The combination enables you to improve safety and efficiency quickly, and to continuously improve over time.
Do you have ISO9001 certification?
We are ISO accredited, which guides the high levels of testing before software gets implemented. Our engineers are also functional safety-accredited. MRA is proud of its quality management process which has resulted in hundreds of successful implementations. Every team you work with is led by a senior engineer and quality-assured by equally experienced peers across the business.
How do you ensure that scope and costs do not blow out when delivering automation engineering projects?
MRA takes the time to completely understand the customer’s context before designing a fit-for-purpose solution. We also take care in scoping to ensure there are no unexpected surprises. Sure, there are some situations you can’t foresee, but in 95% of our projects, what we scope in the first instance is what we charge, even if we have to work a bit harder to get there.
What are MRA’s Axo33 Smart Automation Products - and what kinds of problems do they fix?
MRA has developed a proprietary suite of software developed over several generations of technology, in collaboration with the University of Newcastle (Mechatronics). We’ve pioneered the use of laser technology for rich data collection and combined it with advanced modelling techniques to bring machine intelligence to machine automation. In this way, we improve performance by tapping into underutilised capacity, managing material flow to increase machine life, getting real-time data to improve decision-making, visibility and safety of site personnel.
