Enhancing Port Operations with a High-Quality Control System

Intro

The client was replacing the existing Berth and Shiploader, which had reached their end of life. This project included new switchrooms, conveyors, and mooring hooks in addition to the new shiploader.

MRA was engaged to complete the Control System design and implementation including the Functional Safety Software development. The high-level scope items included:

  1. Specification and Functional Description Development
  2. GE / Emerson PLC Development
  3. PILZ Safety PLC Development
  4. Citect SCADA development
  5. Office Factory Acceptance Testing
  6. Site Acceptance Testing

The goal was to provide a control system design that met the stringent site specifications and documentation requirements.

  2. A thoroughly factory-tested Control System that ensured minimal changes during the commissioning period
